Posers with a gentle giant. Chloe, Bram and Melissa came to Visalia for a night, then we headed up for a day and night among the big trees, the clean air and the cooler climates.
We went on a 6+ mile hike on Day 1 of our trip. Leila is not as light as she once was. And I don't think I'd ever set out on such an ambitious hiking excursion with her. Needless to say, I was ecstatic when she wanted to use her own feet.
We were rewarded along the way with a quaint little waterfall.

Good company, big trees and a journey to a beautiful view -- all reasons to smile, despite a broken toe from the previous night's campfire folly... ouch! Adding an extra 35 pounds to my shoulders didn't help my toe.
