Parts 2, 3 and 4 of Leila's birthday

There were literally four distinct parts to Leila's 4th birthday: the cranes, her school birthday party, her party with Nana, Popo and me, and her trip to Monterey. I definitely cannot keep up this 1:1 ratio of celebrations and years for any longer... it's a lot of work!
Leila's school party, which began with a song ("the earth goes around the sun...") and proceeded to treats I brought in -- blueberry lemon bars for the kids and vegan, gluten-free blueberry lemon bars for the kids with special diets)
Party at Nana and Popo's!
The Care Bears of my youth made a comeback and were a big hit with Leila!
Leila loved exploring with her hands in the touch pool.
She really got into the whole aquarium thing. It was so cool to see things through her eyes (and grown up eyes too!)
Love this picture of her, beaming!
Making friends with a seahorse... what fascinating creatures!
Auntie Bobby joined us at the aquarium. Here, they're being entertained by otter antics.
A wave simulator rushes overhead... sooo cool! Leila was totally mesmerized.
The Aquarium isn't all there is to do in Monterey! Why not drink water from a lion's mouth?!
Dennis the Menace Park was so much fun for all of us!
