Good times abound as summer winds down
Leila definitely likes to climb...
And after a great evening of sliding, playing with good friends and eating delicious food, Leila was totally tuckered out and her dreams couldn't quite wait for her bed.
I took Leila out to Kaweah Oaks Preserve last Saturday for an informative talk about bats given by Burleigh the "Bat Lady." Leila may not have been the best listener (in fact, at one point, she tried to join Burleigh "on stage" and tell the 50+ audience what she thought about bats) but I'll be sure to remind her down the road why bats are super cool creatures. Below, the sun is well along its path of descent, illuminating my efforts to keep Leila distracted.
We packed a picnic for the event. Below, Leila takes a huge bite out of her first sandwich ever (roasted eggplant and squash with garlic aioli and homegrown tomatoes, yum).

Awesome. She's so rad. We are so lucky to know you two. I pity the fool who doesn't see how incredibly awesome you two are.
Katia is bringin' it Mr. T style with "I pity the fool!"
Leila is such a joy and she has a fabulous mama. I always love your blog posts.
