Groovin' to the Beat of 2010

Happy New Year Leila! This is a shot of Leila at 12:15 a.m. on New Year's.
Mr. Potato Head got a stylish new look for the New Year, thanks to Leila's creative design skills.
We helped Nathaniel celebrate his 7th birthday at Adventure Park. It was a great party. And Leila was pretty hot on the basketball version of Skee Ball.
What focus. What determination. What form.
She never actually got the ball past the flip and into a basket, which made her a pretty cheap date. She continued to recycle the orange balls, with great delight, for a good 30 minutes, until I'd slowly take over and eventually feed the machine some more tokens. In the end, believe it or not, we won a prize -- an elephant finger puppet. She named it Louie.
Penny and Leila got into a bit of a debate about the alphabet during bathtime. Leila says "P" is for Popo.
Penny says "P" is for Penny. Duh.
Leila and I went to Exeter this weekend to check out the "Rock and Mineral" Show, an annual extravaganza of precious stones, gems and minerals. It was a truly impressive display, and if Leila were a bit older, I'm sure we would have both learned a lot. The highlight for both of us was the $2 "grab bag" of rocks that she got. It's her new obsession.
Penny likes the rocks too. If I'm not mistaken, I think she might be trying to charm her way into possession of the loot with an overzealous smile.
Leila says, "Not so fast, Penny. They're miiiinne." (In reality, it sounds more like, "Noh! Laaayyyylah!")

I love your commentary on the photos. I laughed out loud at Penny's overzealous smile. :)
